Chelsea's Story Hmmm, it was because my friends actually. My friends said that programmers are cool because they're literally smart. And also, one of my friends told me his father's past. His father had a business, but soon bankrupt because several things. And programming skills saved him, so that until now on, his father is a fullstack programmer. So I concluded that programming skills will really help me, especially in tough times. So I started to learn html, css, and a bit Javascript. I'm still depending on free resources I found myself. I found that programming and tech skill is a must to survive, so that I started to learn, but it's quite hard because I have to make the roadmap by myself and make efforts for searching reliable resources to learn, but no one really guides and advise me. Oh yeah, I'm also interested in UI/UX Design and product management, too! I'm excited to learn and gain more knowledge than I've got when I learn by myself!

๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ Chelsea's Motivation

Because SheCodes teach product management! Besides programming and UI/UX Design, now I'm learning about digital marketing and I also want to learn about product management. I want to prepare my career sooner as I can, because right now I'm having some projects and events with me, and I think if I learn product management, it will upgrade my skills! But unfortunately, in my country, to attend a product management course priced really expensive for a student like me (ranged for Rp4.000.000). I want to be a product manager in case if I couldn't get my major in Psychology. Having a job as product manager is my plan B, it could be say like that. I'm a fast-learner and I wanna be someone who has T-shaped skills is a perfect analogy for me. And product manager requires those quality, so that's why I want to learn Product Management with SheCodes. Because I could learn how to code, design, and absolutely how to manage them as a product! ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also donโ€™t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
