Princessa's Story Some of my friends in high school were competitive programmers. And all they cared about, in high school, were coding. I was awed by their persistence and focus. "Coding must be a great thing if my friends love it that much," was what I used to think. My school conducts programming classes but requires those enrolled to have personal PCs. This was a problem for me and thus my thirst for coding sustains until today.

🙋‍♀️ Princessa's Motivation

To improve myself and help me to get the jobs I want. I really want to work in STEM but am lacking the background needed (no coding experience). SheCodes, however, accepts absolute beginners and women who have no STEM background to its programs. Moreover, SheCodes is recommended by many big companies. Therefore it truly suits my goals and motivation to learn coding.

🤹‍♀️ Princessa's Hobbies

Playing the piano. I even like it that much to the point when my piano was sold during my high school freshman year, I applied for a teacher position at a local music school to be able to use their piano for practicing, etc after I am done with my job teaching the kids there.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
