Aqila's Story Technology is a field in which you can learn a new topic every day and you can increase your knowledge as much as you want just you have to be interested in it and you will not be bored. In my country, there are not so many girl students in the technology field and it has different reasons, it could be because of the culture in the families which they want their daughters to study medical fields or also it could be because of the fewer facilities which they are fundamentals needed in computer science and specifically in coding. when I was in high school my elder brother studied computer science and he was so interested in coding because my marks were great in mathematics sometimes he gave me some basic challenges related to coding and asked me if I am able to find a solution for them and at least I were able to give him a clear explanation and sometimes I were able to solve some of them too and slowly I realized that these tasks were interesting to me and even if I spent more hours on them I did not felt exhausted and I found out that this is something that I should be involved in it in future too. and my brother supported me and prepared all the facilities which I needed and he was the one who said that I can study this field without any worries and I started my dream journey in coding.

🙋‍♀️ Aqila's Motivation

🎯

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
