Audrey's Story I don't really recall the exact time i became interested in coding, but i remember during my pre-teen years, i was drawn to creating my own website and also monetizing on the website creation skill. I did a lot of research then, saw lots of great opportunities for me to start my coding journey but due to lack of resources: both financially and lack of computer, i wasn't able to go through with my desire for coding.

🙋‍♀️ Audrey's Motivation

I have always been interested with people who create things such as applications and websites. Since my pre-teen years, i've wanted to be like Mark Zuckerberg or like Dorsey or to just be a young coder who uses my ideas and the coding skills that i will gain to make something amazing techwise. Finances has been a challenge to me and has stopped me from pursuing my coding desires. With the opportunity of learning how to code with she codes, i will be able to go through with my long time desire.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
