Blessing's Story During my 100 level in university, I picked up intetest in coding. I saw applications that were develop using various programming languages then, I told myself that I will also learn how to code to build one of thses apps but I could not code while in school because no one was able to teach me the basics of it. Fellow colleagues I met demanded I paid a some of money before they could teach me. I also didn't have a laptop neither do I have an internet connection to learn and practice on my own. This dream of mine became difficult to achieve but I always had in mind that I will learn how to code.

🙋‍♀️ Blessing's Motivation

I always dream of building my own apps, with shecode, I believe that dream will come through. For me, coding has been a difficult thing. I always imagine what it takes to be perfect in coding. I teach younger students in my community ICT. Most times when it comes to coding I find it difficult because my knowledge in it is poor. I learnt about shecode and was excited because with this, my students will be happy.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
