Farnaz's Story It was something out of my reach since I heard all the cliches as well: you have to know the math! Girls don't code! It is hard! Blah Blah Blah I have many friends who are programmers and coders, and it has always seemed to be so cool to be working in this major! But I have never seen them at work or how they deal with projects! However, in the fast-paced world that we live in, it is obvious we have to develop our skills to survive. Then I found two Iranian Girls living abroad and sharing their daily life and works on Instagram. It was when I totally could imagine myself in their situations! They were so real! Learning how to code is on my list as well. 😎

🙋‍♀️ Farnaz's Motivation

I have a B.A in Graphic Design and have worked as a freelancer almost since I was graduated (in 2012). Dealing with customers who are unwilling to pay the accurate price or even don't know what they want could get frustrating and disappointing. I have even got depressed a little bit because I feel my work is not appreciated enough! I have been learning about UX design, and I think learning how to code could help me for a career shift. I see myself more toward researching, dealing with problems, coming up with solutions and a girl who would instead work backstage! I would love to try something new which would help me gain extra money as well. 👩‍💻

Surfing on the net and, of course, on Youtube is a fun thing to me! I am a Google-Girl who would google anything unclear to know more about it! :)) Doing Yoga, Going for a walk, Reading, and casual Cooking are my hobbies as well. ✨

Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
