Lidiia 's Story During my courses about web design, it was my teacher who suggested to switch in programming. And then I became even more interested during my studying in university for half a year. I continue my studying in different resources, but these resources don't cover everything.

🙋‍♀️ Lidiia 's Motivation

I applied to Dnipro National University, where I graduated and got a Bachelor degree in English Philology. After that I decided that I wanted to change my specialization and I started to search new possibilities. First of all, I passed IELTS exam and got 7.5 (C1) and finished a course “Mathematical Theory of Formal languages”. One month later, I won Russian Scholarship Project Association “Open doors” in Linguistics & Modern Languages, so I applied to Higher School of Economics in Moscow, where I was supposed to get a degree in Computational Linguistics. I was able to study there only half a year out of two-year program. The first reason why I should postpone my education is due to my dad, who had second stroke and couldn’t move after that. I took a gap year and I should continue to study in February 2022, but unfortunately, the war changed my plans. During half a year in university I studied programming on Python and got deep knowledge of language. And during gap year I completed various courses on Stepik learning Python. Moreover, I got a diploma from University of Leeds in “COMPUTER PROGRAMMING FOR EVERYONE”. Also right now I am taking a course about Python for Languages Processing on Coursera, but it doesn’t cover all important topics. Because of that, I am interested to code with SheCodes, as I want to finish my education and find a job in the sphere.

🤹‍♀️ Lidiia 's Hobbies

I like drawing, as I finished art school. As well I am fun of sports as almost all my childhood I devoted to professional sport (rhythmic gymnastics).

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
