Lucia 's Story I am currently in my fourth year studying at the Malawi University of Science and Technology pursuing a Bachelors degree of science in Earth Science. I had my first introduction to programming during a computer science class I was offered in my first year. Learning the basics of a programming language ignited my curiosity, I loved the problem-solving aspect of coding and how it allowed me to bring my ideas to life through logical and structured instructions. Unfortunately for me that was the first and last time my course offered me an opportunity to be taught coding. But that did not stop me, I started exploring coding through online resources and tutorials.The more I learned, the more I realized the vast potential and endless possibilities that coding offered.
I have a genuine passion for coding as well as a desire to learn and grow in this field. I have a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics and programming. Coding can be applied to a variety of sectors, including geology, which is what I intend to do.Coding has the potential to significantly improve geology in Malawi by enabling more accurate and efficient analysis of geological data, leading to better decision making and resource management.
I love to participate in sporting activities, football and swimming to be exact. I enjoy reading, hiking, camping and collecting gemstones. Most of my time goes to voluntary work and participating in charitable events.
