Maeva's Story After my involvements in many associations like Climates Madagascar where I was community manager, I became really interested in digital universe, I started to look at all the things that can be done in this sector apart of community management, and then one day I joined a facebook group where they publish a lots of job announcement, one of them attracts me because I didn't know what it is, and it was a job announcement for a web developer. So I started to look for more information about this job and I joined another groups to dive about it. When I began to know more about it, I started to look in the internet for free courses because here in Madagascar, this kind of course is quite expensive. Web development permits to do a lot of things, I didn't know about it, making application, making web sites; I was amazed.

🙋‍♀️ Maeva's Motivation

Learning to code with SheCodes means a lot to me because this is an offer dedicated to women. Though Madagascar is in the right way to achieve gender equality in the world of work, it is still difficult for women to access such kinds of courses and pedagogy. So my motivations are:👉making my passion for web development my future job 👉Being a solution bringer in the digital sector in Madagascar, especially for girls and women 👉Meeting other girls like me who are fond of learning to code and becoming friends with them 👉 Networking with girls who can inspire others to start their journey on learning to code.

🤹‍♀️ Maeva's Hobbies

My hobbies are reading books and manga making bullet journal, writing and watching TV anime. For fun I do guiding, it is not just for fun even if in guiding we often say "If it is not fun, it is not guiding" ; it became more for me because I'm involved in action in favor of girls and women as a chieftain.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
