Mercy's Story I became interested in coding right from secondary school. However I didn't have my own computer back then , made it hard to practice. I eventually got demotivated and gave up. When I got a job, bought myself a laptop, did a few free code camp lessons and I loved it. I want to advance my skills to a level where I can compete internationally.

🙋‍♀️ Mercy's Motivation

My motivation is to learn more and get more exposure in different technologies so as to advance my programming skills . Going through this process, am trying to be an example to females in my country ,programming is not something for only males but we can do it to. It's not rocket science.

🤹‍♀️ Mercy's Hobbies

I like reading books, watching movies , baking ,love listening to music , motivational speaker (les brown is the best), like learning something new from YouTube.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
