Oleksandra's Story When I was in the school, my parents gave me the opportunity to study in the computer school for juniors. This is where I have learned how to build websites with HTML, JS. As I remember, we also coded characters in Macromedia and final result was the short cartoon. It was always interesting to see the result. Coding helps graphic objects come to life which is super exciting for me. I wish I could do it😌

🙋‍♀️ Oleksandra's Motivation

SheCodes is inspiring foundation with the valuable purpose - to decreasing the gender gap in the tech industry. And I want to say thank you for the opportunity you give to Ukrainian women! My motivation to learn coding is to implement this knowledge into creating interactive artworks. Currently my instruments are photography, video editing. However I am inspired of the ability to create a 3D characters and make them be able to interracial with a viewer. My favorite RX developer I admire is @autonommy . Before the war I planned to save money for to buy a PC to make and render 3D models. Now I have to postpone this plan. Once I found the opportunity to learn how to code with SheCodes, I knew it would be an amazing chance to learn coding, to find a job in tech, to save money and help my family, then to buy PC and to start learning 3D modeling. It is a long way but I know and I feel that this choice is right for me.

🤹‍♀️ Oleksandra's Hobbies

Photography is one of my biggest inspirations.Through photography I can explore an environment, I can interview a person I admire.Video editing is my other hobby.Those instruments help me express my thoughts and feelings.I am inspired by collaborations with other artists.It is really enjoyable to explore a theme together and to find new meanings. Also I have tried a 3D modeling and I implemented one of the models into Spark AR, but again knowledge of coding is obligatory if I want to make an interactive object.

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
