Olesia's Story My last job was to launch an online store: developing technical assignments, search and communication with contractors, site promotion and analytics, order processing, etc. As my work was connected mostly with UI/UX I’ve come to a conclusion that Front-end can be really interesting for me. So I’ve decided to learn as much as I can to become a Front-end developer.

🙋‍♀️ Olesia's Motivation

The war touched me back in 2014. I had to move from my hometown, later find a new job and build my life from scratch. Lucky for me, the company I was working for at that time was able to start working in peaceful regions of our country. 8 years have passed and I have to rebuild my life again. My decision is to stay in Kyiv, but I have lost my job, plans and dreams. That is why I need to start all over again. I really want to get a new profession, so that I can work non-location-dependent and that can financially support me and my country in these difficult times.

🤹‍♀️ Olesia's Hobbies

I’m committed to the principles of naturalness. I’m fond of sports and hiking. Movie fan.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
