Olufunmilola's Story I work in the banking sector as a marketer. Most of our products are created to ease our customers transaction. We created solutions for different stages of their businesses. But most of the time, the solutions are not intuitive and customers end up not having a good user experience. I know our IT department are responsible for creating the solutions and they try to meet up with customer's demands. But there is always a gap in the experience of the user. This is what pique my interest in coding in the first place. I want to put a smile on the users' face and be a part of their journey while serving them. I started researching on how to be a solution provider to users. And I discover that one of the ways I can do this is to learn coding and also learn how to apply it in real life situations, to build intuitive solutions for users. I discover "She codes" while searching for a site I can learn coding. Thereafter, I also mentioned it to a friend who confirmed it will help me. After reading the testimonials of ladies on the platform, I decided to apply as well. I look forward to learning and building a career as a software engineer very soon.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
