Olwethu's Story I am interested in all things related to apps and websites, particularly when they make something routine or banal become effortless. I joined the SheCodes intro to coding workshop and realised that software development is one of the most exciting skills out there for anyone who enjoys creativity, problem-solving and building things from scratch, amongst other things. That's me!

🙋‍♀️ Olwethu's Motivation

I am eager to delve deeper into the world of digital technology by furthering my knowledge of and competencies in web development. Hopefully, one day, I will be able to use these skills to start a social enterprise of my own that serves my community and creates a meaningful impact.

🤹‍♀️ Olwethu's Hobbies

I am an avid reader and cook, and I thoroughly enjoy hiking and swimming.

🎯

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
