Omolara's Story I got interested through a friend of mine who is into tech herself(IT Support) and when I did research on my own and I came across shecodes I knew this is right place to be. I was skeptical about mean that I thought it's just for people who has the knowledge but coming across shecodes after my research and the online class I joined my interest got piqued and I was convinced it's something I want and what I want to do.

🙋‍♀️ Omolara's Motivation

I got motivated because we all know tech has large population of men but I am grateful for a platform like shecodes to be able to learn.I am an industrial chemistry graduate when I was in university I had a computer science roommate she was the first person I ever heard the word coding but the impression I had then was it's just men that are into it,I remember encouraging her to go into it. Few years down the line I see that coding is not majorly for men or computer science graduate I became motivated to change career and coming across shecodes has been a great eyeopener especially after the 60minutes online class I joined.

🤹‍♀️ Omolara's Hobbies

I watch sport(football) and also watch movies. Reading books.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
