Sharon's Story My friend is a ''coding queen" . I have always loved seeing her get delighted when she creates solutions/fixes using codes. Through her I learnt that coding does not only make one a better problem solver but it also teaches patience, perseverance, and discipline. Coding pushes one outside of their comfort zone in a good way and this gives me a thrill.

🙋‍♀️ Sharon's Motivation

With the unfortunate events of the 2019 pandemic, it became more clearer to me that the future of technology is now. Many organizations that had not acquired smart technology had to shape up or risk being shipped out. I'd love to learn coding and use that knowledge in creating opportunities for myself and many others around me.

🤹‍♀️ Sharon's Hobbies

I love singing and expeditions. During my free time, I am more likely to learn a new song or perfect the already know or grab my hiking boots and go on explorations!

🎯

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
