Tinuoye's Story When I was in primary 5 , we did a light bulb experiment and afterwards I fell in love with sciences . In JSS1 when I started learning ICT I couldn’t tune out my passion for the course. When I wrote my first code in html ,I would go back home everyday and rewrite it on paper so I wouldn’t ever forget and once a week when we had access to a computer ,I would spend my time running that code. From ss1 even tho I went to a government school because I couldn’t afford a better education ,afterschool I would volunteer to clean up a cyber cafe just so I could read new facts about ict posted on the walls, or hear programmers talk about how the code. And ever since desire to develop myself in this field has accelerated.

🙋‍♀️ Tinuoye's Motivation

Since I was a child I’ve had the dream of becoming a programmer or a web developer.when I entered ss1 things were so bad financially I almost didn’t graduate . I couldn’t afford to enter a university or a polytechnic. But I’m hardworking and dedicated to gaining knowledge. I heard of Shecodes from one of my friends who was able to afford a university to school and she told me there was a scholarship program . Please I have such a unique love for programming and web development . I had done house service work for years just to afford money to get a laptop so I can search for ways to develop myself in the world of ICT. Shecodes is the best Godgiven opportunity I have gotten in almost my whole life.I really want to learn and gain these skills for the sake of knowledge and to gain a better job to feed my family. Anytime I work as a cleaner for a family with children in secondary school , I always try to read ICT and mathematics textbooks to gain knowledge .I am exceptionally good in mathematics right from secondary school , And I am a fast learner.Getting this scholarship will mean everything to me .please.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
