Thi My Trinh's Story I first became interested in coding when I was learning Pascal in secondary school in Vietnam. I still remembered that although it was difficult at the beginning, I was so satisfied after finishing a coding task of simple mathematics. Unlike other friends who only aimed to pass the tests, I even registered for a short course of Pascal outside of school, willing to learn more about it. With the help of Pascal, I first discovered the fun of coding. I felt like I could create something cool and helpful for others and that feeling motivated me to practice coding more. At the end of the semester, I was the top of the class at the Pascal course. Even though I have not learned coding since high school, when seeing multiple coding classes with different technologies in SheCodes, I cannot help but feel so happy, as I was when first coding in secondary school. I am eager to learn coding with SheCodes.

🙋‍♀️ Thi My Trinh's Motivation

I am eager to learn how to code with SheCodes because I have been interested in coding for a long time. Even though my background is in language studies, I am curious about the digital world. Nowadays, the world’s development is more and more dependent on technology. From doing business, making deliveries to studying, almost all human's activities are being supported by technology and software. By coding, I hope I can be a puzzle piece in the prosperity of the world, making everyone’s life better and better. Moreover, I believe SheCodes is the best school with a well-organized coding education suitable for women. I am moved by SheCodes's mission to encourage more women, especially women in developing countries to thrive in this field. Furthermore, I believe that the knowledge and skills gained in SheCode can enable me to find a well-paid job. A good job with coding skills will be a huge support for the livelihood of my own and my family.

🤹‍♀️ Thi My Trinh's Hobbies

I have a hobby of learning languages. Learning languages helps me to explore different selves and different worlds when I use these languages to express myself and look up for news. Moreover, the process of learning languages with small tasks every day allows me to have a habit of practising and learning something new nonstop. Currently, I can speak from the beginner level to intermediate level of Chinese, French, English, Japanese and I just started to learn some Italian yesterday. I believe the language asset and coding skills that I could gain from SheCodes will help me to land a good job and open up a new future for my life.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
