Acha's Story To start my journey I was advised to learn a programming language. We started learning C in secondary school but I couldn’t rap my head around it. A friend of mine told me to try python of which I did and he also gave me a course as well. As I went through it I just developed a love for the language. Through out the course a lot of topics were covered but what I loved the most was the web development section and decided to venture in that area.

🙋‍♀️ Acha's Motivation

I have a deep love for humanity and growing up, I would always wonder what I can do to improve the way humans live. I thought of being a politician but history continuously beat me and I loved the sciences so that was what I did in secondary school. When I got to the University (University of Buea). I got a chance to see how others were making a difference in their community and wanted to make my own contributions. So I joined a community of tech innovators and being around them sparked a lot of interest in me for tech and most of all I can improve humanity with it.

🤹‍♀️ Acha's Hobbies

I braid hir in my spare time. I love to cook as well

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
