Aida Najihah's Story Post pandemic, during my struggle to secure a job (still unable to secure one!) I came across data analytics. I tried to take the online free courses but it did not help improve my understanding. There were other paid courses online but they were mostly in USD, converting from my current would cost probably 2-3 months rent worth. It was not a feasible option. Though I am still motivated to learn, to support my family. Times are changing, the pandemic taught us that. We need to have backups in life to protect ourselves.

🙋‍♀️ Aida Najihah's Motivation

Most people want to live a life with a purpose, and I am no different. With the lost of family members and time due to the pandemic, finding a sense of direction is difficult; to some impossible. Failing to secure employment after graduation (during the pandemic) also dampened my spirits badly. I am finding a new light, a gravitational pull of sorts to expand my knowledge and broaden my thinking. I’ve always enjoyed learning, and I hope that this new path brings me joy. With that, I also would like to find a good job in the field, to provide a better life for my (future) kids and get through this life having a home, clothed and fed.

🤹‍♀️ Aida Najihah's Hobbies

I enjoy organising. Whether it be cleaning my house, or data entry tasks, I enjoy it very much. There’s a great satisfaction of turning chaos into order. Though I am a maximilist, there is always order in my chaos. Being a homemaker gives me plenty of time to organise my house (life). Marie Kondo is a hero in this household. I also enjoy travelling, whether it be to the mall or on a holiday. I just like being on the move. Something about being still scares me in a way.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
