Ana Clara's Story As a teenager in the 2000s, I dabbled briefly in coding. I had a blog and later a Tumblr page where I began to explore HTML coding. However, I never progressed beyond the basics. Unfortunately, my parents didn't view it as a worthwhile pursuit and didn't support the time I spent studying it. Eventually, I abandoned coding altogether to focus on my school studies.

🙋‍♀️ Ana Clara's Motivation

Coding represents a fresh perspective for me as a woman. My laptop serves as my most utilized tool, and I aim to comprehend it more deeply, speaking its language fluently. I believe everyone should grasp the fundamentals of computing, as it significantly shapes our daily existence. SheCodes presents itself as a new avenue, countering the historical exclusion of girls from this domain.

🤹‍♀️ Ana Clara's Hobbies

Design is my greatest passion and recently I've delved into graphic design, 3D modeling, and rendering. The more I explore these programs, the more my curiosity grows about computing and coding. I also love design for social media and the related fields, such as marketing and communication.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
