Annastasia's Story I have so many friends on Facebook that are into tech, hearing them talk about got me interested so I started looking for ways to learn, I can stay at home in my parents house and earn till I have enough to either relocate to my dream city. I am a very determined and focused person, I have always known what I want and how to go but Nigeria happened to me, I am in my final year at Unizik since February, it has set me back. I should be serving and earning now but I still depend on my parents and I am not happy or comfortable with it, been a part of this great program will go a long way in helping me finding my footing and pay my bills myself. I want to be empowered.

🙋‍♀️ Annastasia's Motivation

I want to transit into tech and take it as a career and to provide for my family. As the first child of a poor family that gave all trying to send me to school, I want to start earning even before using my certificate and help lessen the burden on my parents. Tech is the new gold, there is enough jobs for everyone and you can do it remotely, so it's idea for me.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
