Annelyn's Story I've worked in the financial sector for 18 years and as time goes on technology is evolving. The vision and strategy in the workplace is A.I. I have always wanted to learn coding but was afraid because I assumed that you needed to have great mathematic skills. After attending the online session today it made me realise that I am capable of learning coding as a woman.

🙋‍♀️ Annelyn's Motivation

My motivation for learning with SheCodes is to get a better understanding of coding so that I am able to find a job. In my previous job I interacted with developers on a daily basis and was always curious on how coding worked but was afraid to pursue that path because it was male dominated. Now that I am currently unemployed I realise the importance of upskilling myself in order to remain relevant in the workplace and provide a better life for myself as well as my loved ones.

🤹‍♀️ Annelyn's Hobbies

I enjoy travelling and exploring the various types of food and cultures with family and friends.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
