Barbara's Story In High School, there was a class about programming. I learned some HTML 5, CSS 3, and PHP. We learned how to build a database and even built a little game with Microsoft Visual Basic. A few years ago. I learned graphic design (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and have read some about coding in Bootstrap as a way to get a responsive design but I haven’t been able to explore that passion further. I’d love to be able to learn and make a career of it but I don’t have the financial capability to pay for it now. I do offer to do a lot of word of mouth and extol and bring to light what you do with your foundation and school.

🙋‍♀️ Barbara's Motivation

I’d like to learn how to code to find a job in the Web Design and Apps industry that hopefully opens doors to me for better opportunities. I’d love to be able to support my family through my passion and in our current national economy, it is extremely difficult.

🤹‍♀️ Barbara's Hobbies

I love doing puzzles, painting, sketching and I’m currently learning Italian. I really enjoy playing board games with my friends and family. I love going to the beach and playing with our family dog. He’s a black bull terrier named Rayo.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
