Comfort's Story I was introduced to coding through social media, with young people showcasing their coding journeys and how it changed their lives. I then began researching how to get into tech without a degree, and with the tiktok algorithm, I began seeing more videos of coding on my "for you" page, and a lady named "Tebogo Nthako" was explaining what shecodes is, and I got motivated to apply. Acquiring coding skills gives up a wide range of professional prospects in the digital industry, perhaps leading to higher-paying and more gratifying professions. Coding will allow me a platform to practice problem-solving abilities, allowing me to tackle difficulties logically and creatively. Furthermore, learning coding will provide opportunities for job progression because it is a desirable and sought-after ability in a variety of sectors.

🙋‍♀️ Comfort's Motivation

I feel SheCodes is a wonderful platform for learning how to code, particularly for women, owing to a number of essential features. The SheCodes Foundation offers free coding lessons, making it accessible to a large audience and fostering diversity in the tech sector. SheCodes Foundation students obtain access to SheCodes Pro, a free 6-month curriculum that provides extensive coding education. Coding abilities frequently enable remote work possibilities, allowing for greater flexibility in managing work and family life and leading to a healthy work–life balance. Finally, SheCodes has received favorable feedback, with participants expressing pleasure in their learning achievements and commending the demanding yet well-paced courses.

I enjoy playing netball because it helps me clear my thoughts and makes me feel free and confident. I suppose that's my coping mechanism; also, it keeps me fit in the process.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
