Danelia 's Story Currently, our life is all about technology and I found myself in need to adapt to be able to develop my knowledge. Being a woman from a developing country, inspire me to get more knowledge and improve my skills about coding. It’s inspires me the fact I am able to lear a lot more about things that are so important in our life and since I always have the desire to learn, I like to learn about different things, I currently study journalism and it is very important to be aligned with technology when being a journalist since when can influence people by using the technology. I want to improve my knowledge about coding since I work with web pages and that the channel to share information, coding plays an important role for me as a journalist that works with technology every day.

🙋‍♀️ Danelia 's Motivation

My motivation is my own development and to make my mother proud of me since she had an opportunity to study a career for free when she was younger, but she was not allowed for being a woman. So, I would like to enhance my knowledge about coding and adapt myself to this new digital environment which is changing every day, and since no many woman have the opportunity to enhance their knowledges in my country, and there are too little institutions offering this kind of opportunities. I know that if I get new skills for new technology, I will also get the capability to get a new and better job, and participate in projects that industries need. I want to be an example of empowered women for my community, and inspire other people to learn new things and leave their confort zone since learning is the most important thins nowadays in our developing country.

The thing I enjoy the most is reading, that is my hobby. I also enjoy learning languages, so I use free apps to learn and YouTube videos. For fun I like to go for a long walk and connecting with nature.

🎯

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
