Divine 's Story Back in 2021, we had this long break because of a strike, and I was just hanging around with nothing to do. One day, a friend of mine, who was into coding, sensed my boredom. He told me about this course by Angela Yu on web development that he got on Udemy. I was like, "Why not?" He shared his login, and that's how I dipped my toes into coding. It wasn't planned or anything, just a random offer that kickstarted this whole coding journey for me.

🙋‍♀️ Divine 's Motivation

My motivation for learning to code with SheCodes stems from a desire to break into the tech world and empower myself with valuable skills. SheCodes provides an inclusive environment, and I'm drawn to their commitment to supporting women in technology. Learning to code through SheCodes not only aligns with my career goals but also offers a supportive community that fosters growth and encourages diversity in the tech industry.

🤹‍♀️ Divine 's Hobbies

I'm all about movies, fiction books, the Olympic sport of napping, and having a good laugh while trying not to burn the kitchen down—because cooking in a chill setting is my kind of fun. Learning new things and coding keep me on my toes. Life's an entertaining mix!

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
