Divine's Story I had an interest in coding, but I found many courses to be too expensive. I ended up opting for more affordable courses and working as a tutor to fund them. However, the courses I took did not equip me with the necessary skills to access many opportunities. SheCodes seems like a viable option to help me acquire the coding skills that I need, and potentially lead me towards better career opportunities.

🙋‍♀️ Divine's Motivation

I came across your foundation, and I am amazed by the work you do to support women from developing nations who cannot afford to pursue their goals due to financial constraints. The website has numerous positive testimonials from women who have benefited from the programme. I believe acquiring coding skills from SheCodes would make me a more competent and marketable candidate when job hunting because I will have the necessary skills. I am currently unemployed, and the only job I could find was tutoring, which requires me to be a student continuously. Additionally, I want to provide my family with a better life, and learning how to code from a well-recognized foundation like SheCodes would be an honor.

🤹‍♀️ Divine's Hobbies

Despite not being particularly proficient at it, I find myself drawn to the sport of swimming. There's something about the feeling of weightlessness and the cool embrace of the water that is both calming and invigorating. When I'm not swimming, I enjoy exploring the great outdoors through hiking. There's nothing quite like the satisfaction of reaching the summit of a challenging trail and taking in the breathtaking views. I have developed a keen interest in reading over the years and find it a great source of knowledge and entertainment. Whether it's a classic novel, a biography, or a self-help book, reading helps me expand my horizons and better understand the world around me.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
