Eleni's Story When I was in high school I had some basic coding courses and I was really good at them and I loved it. I always saw how my peers from STEM careers both at University and work did amazing things with coding and have been fascinated with it.

🙋‍♀️ Eleni's Motivation

I've always had a passion for technology and coding, however was discouraged to pursue a career in this field because it was a "men" only profession. I ended up working in technology but in customer facing roles, and even tough I have done well, I haven't really thrived on my career and that is because I have ADHD and I struggle with social interactions. Even tough I am the best at knowing the product and understanding the strategy, that is something that always weighs heavy, even tough I try every day to improve and be better. With coding, however, I think my ADHD would be a strength instead of a weakness for my career.

🤹‍♀️ Eleni's Hobbies

Lately my biggest hobby is learning about ADHD, mental health and how to have a good quality of life with it, which also involves a lot of therapy and work. But besides that I love swimming, cooking, writing confessional poetry and letters, painting and social community service.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
