Imita's Story I recently discovered that a computer has its own language that one can use to communicate and command the device, which means with those skills I can use it to determine our social problems within society and be able to create analysis and statistics to improve and empower our society using data coded information because currently I'm a social psychology student, and it has come to my attention that given with the rapid use of technology these days it might be our solution to most issues that we facing. With coding, I want to see if I can apply my psychology research based on computer senses.

🙋‍♀️ Imita's Motivation

I want to learn how to code because technology and the use of computer devices is continuing to become one of the most important developments in society and I want to have the ability to have an understanding of it as young women in South Africa, I want to expand my skills to this field, gain experience, knowledge, and hopefully i get an opportunity that will challenge me to showcase what I have learned in this Foundation.

🤹‍♀️ Imita's Hobbies

I like to read about politics, society, and the economy, I do a lot of debating about those topics because I'm very much so interested in what people think and feel about the world we live in. I like playing my piano and guitar. I participate in drama, theater, filming, and creative writing but I do enjoy my solitude, just listening to music or watching movies.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
