As an unemployed parent of two children with a strong educational background but struggling to secure a job in administration, I find myself at a crossroads. Despite my efforts, I have faced numerous challenges in finding employment that can adequately support my family. However, my passion for coding and computers has remained unwavering. The opportunity to participate in the SheCodes course could be life-changing for me. Not only would it enable me to acquire valuable skills in a rapidly growing field, but it would also open doors to new career opportunities that were previously out of reach. With the knowledge gained from this course, I can envision myself not only securing stable employment but also contributing to the advancement of technology. This chance is not just about learning to code; it's about transforming my future and providing a better life for my children. I am eager to seize this opportunity and demonstrate my dedication to learning and growing in the tech industry.

Some activities I enjoy with my kids include building with LEGO or other blocks, exploring nature through scavenger hunts or camping, cooking or baking together, doing arts and crafts projects, and playing board games or engaging in group activities. These activities promote creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, curiosity, and social interaction, all of which are valuable for bonding and personal growth.

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
