Josefa's Story My initial interest in coding was sparked by a combination of factors that are closely aligned with my commitment to increasing the representation of women in male-dominated fields in Chile and LATAM. As I witnessed the gender disparities in technology-related sectors and recognized the need to break the stereotype that women are incapable of excelling in these areas, I became motivated to challenge these norms and create a positive change. My fascination with fields that encompass Data Science further fueled my interest in coding. The potential of using data to drive insights, solve complex problems, and make informed decisions resonated deeply with me. I saw coding as the gateway to unlocking these possibilities and contributing to a more inclusive and diverse technological landscape. In a rapidly evolving world that is constantly introducing new technologies, I strongly believe in the value of continuous learning. The field of coding exemplifies this need for adaptability and growth. Learning to code not only empowers me to actively participate in technological advancements but also equips me with the tools to navigate a tech-driven society effectively. The desire to challenge preconceived notions, advocate for gender equality, delve into the captivating realm of Data Science, and embrace lifelong learning converged to ignite my interest in coding. My motivation for learning how to code with SheCodes stems from a deep-seated passion for technology and a strong desire to become a skilled Full Stack Web Developer. As I've explored the dynamic world of coding, I've been captivated by the endless possibilities it offers to create innovative digital solutions that can make a positive impact on people's lives. The reputation and quality of SheCodes' programs have inspired me to seek this educational opportunity. I believe that SheCodes can provide me with the comprehensive technical knowledge and practical skills required to excel in the field of web development. Learning languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and gaining insights into both front-end and back-end development align perfectly with my goals. I also recognized myself as a woman who promote S.T.E.M knowledge and carrers, so I am excited about the prospect of gaining the knowledge and skills needed to contribute meaningfully to the tech industry, motivate more girls and womans from my experience and I believe that SheCodes is the perfect platform to facilitate this journey.
My hobbies are makeup (I'm a makeup artist in my spare time), learning new languages (I speak Spanish, English and German... and I've noticed that programming is adding more languages to my knowledge so that may also be a reason why. I'm interested in this field), cooking, and reading (I started reading this year and I discovered a great world in literature!!... my goal is to read 12 books this year and I've been reading for 5, but let's go!)
