🙋♀️ Justyne's Motivation
Firstly, I would like to prove to myself that this is something that I can achieve despite previously believing that women "can't" code, having no real coding experience and not having being a "straight A" student. Secondly, it's something that I've always wanted to do but shied away from and I'm at a stage in my life now where I'd love to choose the right career path for myself. I was very unhappy after graduating from university last year during the COVID-19 pandemic with a BFA in Visual Communication. I did not want to focus on graphic design when my passions lie in UX/UI and Web Dev. I have recently pivoted into the field of becoming a UX/UI Designer. While I feel better in this decision, I still want to achieve becoming a Web Developer as well. To up-skill and offer a wider range of services, also, so that I can understand how to design better in collaboration with other developers when it's time to hand off my designs, if I'm not able to develop them myself. I had done some research on online coding bootcamps/workshops and saw that SheCodes was highly rated and recommended so I looked into the programme and immediately wanted to take part in these courses. I absolutely love what SheCodes stands for and does. As I had mentioned before, it is so normal for us to believe that only men are capable of excelling in this industry, but SheCodes has given me the confidence in myself to finally give it a shot.
