Katayoon's Story My interest in coding sparked from a moment of resourcefulness and determination. Initially, I lacked access to a computer to pursue online coding courses. Undeterred, I sought help from a friend who generously lent me his computer. In return, I promised to compensate him for its use once I could afford it. With access to a computer secured, I embarked on my coding journey, driven by the desire to fulfill my commitment and acquire new skills. However, the path to learning coding proved more challenging than anticipated. Despite initial setbacks and obstacles, I persevered, motivated by the prospect of gaining proficiency in coding and honoring my promise to my friend. This experience instilled in me a deep sense of determination and resilience, laying the foundation for my ongoing pursuit of coding knowledge and proficiency. Each obstacle encountered along the way served as a testament to my unwavering dedication and fueled my passion for coding, shaping my journey into the dynamic and evolving field of technology.

🤹‍♀️ Katayoon's Hobbies

One of my hobbies revolves around connecting with my Hindi friends, particularly those in the field of computer science, through channels like Apna College, which I find truly fascinating. It's a way for me to stay engaged with the latest developments in technology while fostering meaningful connections. Additionally, whenever I find myself in a low mood, I turn to dance as a form of expression. Dancing to various songs allows me to release negative emotions and embrace the freedom of movement, respecting and rejuvenating my body in the process. Dancing brings me joy and serves as a creative outlet, enriching my leisure time with rhythm and movement.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
