Kateryna's Story When I was 15, I was creating simple HTML pages, was fascinated by the process. At school I was the best at our computer science class. After I graduated, I always have been looking for the ways to start programming. Now I'm trying to learn Javascript on my own, but I think with good courses I would have progressed much faster..

🙋‍♀️ Kateryna's Motivation

To find a stable job and income abroad. To be able to support myself and my family who stayed in Ukraine. Help my sister to get education. Also, I was always passionate about programming. But when I was 16 my mom convinced me that coding is not for girls..Now I know, it’s not the case

🤹‍♀️ Kateryna's Hobbies

Before the war, I loved to travel.I was very happy to travel as soon as covid restrictions were over. I love non-fiction and dystopian books. Passionate about gym and running, love outdoor hiking and climbing. I really love cats and all the animals.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
