katlego's Story I first became interested in coding when I was abruptly introduced to python in my Honours year, however it was not a core module thus not enough was taught and thus it kept lingering in my mind and course because my research project needed me to know how to code, I struggled throughout the course thus it sparked the edge to learn how to code.

🙋‍♀️ katlego's Motivation

I would love to learn how to code because of the opportunities that come with it ;working oversee, travelling, the healthy flexible working environment ,job security and as well as the money. I have seen a couple of alumina's from social media showcasing how She codes has changed their lives. I am a high school teacher who wishes to leave education and join the corporate world and finally use the degrees i have (B.Sc. in Chemistry and Physics,B.Sc. Hons in Physics) before pursuing teaching.

🤹‍♀️ katlego's Hobbies

I love to read about things that caught my interest . I have enrolled on Udemy to lean basics of python, I code during weekends . I exercise 5 days a week . For fun I listen to music.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
