Khulani 's Story My interest first peaked when I met someone in the field, especially because I previously had no exposure/didn't know it existed and I found the things he could do fascinating. Then as time went on and I saw more girls in coding it started to become more of a reality that I too could be a part of it. Now I am interested in how far I can push myself and creatively merge these skills with nutrition health.

🙋‍♀️ Khulani 's Motivation

My biggest motivation is job security and supporting myself and my family. I specifically want to learn from SheCodes because it removes the intimidating aspect of a male-dominated environment and the format of learning also works for me because of where I'm based, I can curate my learning around that.

🤹‍♀️ Khulani 's Hobbies

I do enjoy reading, I always have. No specific genre of books - just depends on my mood and watching documentaries. I love music and dancing. Recently, I started jogging (after hating running for all my life) and hiking/being outside due to the great mental and emotional benefits. Lastly, when given the chance I enjoy trying new foods, especially of different tribes and cultures.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
