Kimberlyn's Story I learnt about coding in 2022 when I met a friend with a Computer Science degree working as a back end software developer. He recommended i learn how to code because it could open up doors for me in the tech industry. Which is how I learnt my first programming language java . I had so much fun learning and that's how i became in love with coding.

🙋‍♀️ Kimberlyn's Motivation

I love the fact that the SheCodes foundation is an initiative to empower women to get into tech. Most importantly the fact that after completion you receive certification which is something i look forward to as someone who doesn't afford to pay for the necessary certification to help me break in to the industry. I learnt through research that the foundation has recognition from the biggest tech companies from all around the world which opens you up to more chances of employment. Most importantly, most of women i learnt about the foundation from have now give it a good rating and have now landed their first tech roles thanks to the foundation. I would honestly love to become one of them.

🤹‍♀️ Kimberlyn's Hobbies

For fun i love do gymnastics, play music, read, clean and organize my space. I am an individual who has OCD which makes me very detail orientated and should be enough assurance I love DEBUGGING.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
