Kobra's Story My interest in coding started when I realized that I was pretty good in math classes and I was able to easily analyze the problem and find various ways of solving math problems. My math teacher who was famous for her outstanding skills in coding and computers suggested I be her TA (teacher assistant). While being her TA, I sometimes was discussing about my future faults with her. And she said that you are good at math and you might do good at computers as well and give it a try. I then started with very basic lessons in computers and reached on to very basic writing language programs, Scratch. It seemed very easy and interesting at the same time, and then I continued to learn more and started to enjoy it.

🙋‍♀️ Kobra's Motivation

As a student of computer science fault, I am not confident about my skills in coding and lack the skill to professionally work in my fault. In addition, by enhancing my coding skills, I can independently work more professionally and have a high chance of getting a good paid online job. As a student who is not allowed to work except work study inside the university with a very low payment, I cannot afford to take extra courses in my fault. So, I need opportunities like this to boost my level of knowledge in coding and other skills. However, my biggest motivation for learning how to code is that I enjoy trying various ways to figure out the best one and the creativity while writing the code. Besides, as I have lots of free time for practicing and learning, it is a good opportunity for me to use.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
