Maria's Story During the Corona pandemic many industries and sectors were economically affected. One of them; the Gastronomical sector. On one hand, people were tired to cook every day. On the other hand, the gastronomical sector was also facing problems and consequently many people were unemployed. That is how to help them and trying to find a solution, I came up with the idea to develop a delivery platform for the gastronomical sector. Together with a couple of software engineers I started to work on it. And during the process I realized that I needed to learn prototyping to show my colleagues how the website and app should look like in order to make it user friendly and easy for our customers and users. I learned in google to do paper prototype in order to explain it as it was in my head but it was not enough then I had to learn digital prototype and after that they could understand me better but even though we always had problems to understand exactly what I wanted to express or show in the app and it took us always more time to finish our work. During this years and researching how to solve it I only come to this idea that FRONT END is the best way to communicate in the most so to speak ,”tangible way” what you want to express and so the back end developers or the other engineers you work with go in the same line and make it easier.

🙋‍♀️ Maria's Motivation

She codes teach me all what I need to develop and show the real and functional prototype of my digital business ideas. Based on previous work experiences I can confirm how important is that we speak or understand the same language (coding) to work successfully on a digital business projects or ideas. Front End programming ist what I am missing to give life to my digital business ideas.

🤹‍♀️ Maria's Hobbies

I like to play piano, painting, and drawing. I also enjoy reading books of self-development and Human Psychology. I am very curious kind of person and love to learn new things. I tried to learn always new languages and research new things in order to have different topics to talk about.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
