Maria Glenda's Story The degree I am currently pursuing that is Biomediacal labarotory technology has course units such as bio informatics that requires the integration of the theorotical biology as well as the Information and Communication Technology(ICT). This opened my eyes to operating systems such as LINUX that made me curious to learn coding. However, every course comes at a fee that is not affordable to me as a student.

Learning how to code opens up a multitude of opportunities in today's technology-driven world. It will provide the ability to create websites, develop software applications, analyze data, and automate tasks. Coding skills are highly sought after in various industries, leading to greater job prospects and higher earning potential. Additionally, coding enhances problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills by breaking down complex problems into smaller, more manageable parts. It fosters creativity and enables individuals to bring their ideas to life through software development. Moreover, coding promotes continuous learning and personal growth as technology evolves. Overall, the motivation for learning how to code lies in the potential for career advancement, creative expression, problem-solving capabilities, and staying relevant in a rapidly changing digital landscape.

I love to read self help books such as atomic habits, seven habits of highly effective people. Sports such as netball,swimming and tennis as well have my attention. I also listen to music especially gospel and Rnb songs. I also interest myself in learning new skills, currently working on effective communication skills.

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
