María Gracia's Story My dad is a developer and in a way, coding has always been around me. As I grew older I started working with him from a business perspective. A lot of my job involves interacting with developers and I have encountered times I find myself lost when talking about how a particular product works or what is the best technology to use. As this continues to pass I feel is necessary for me to understand coding thoroughly to become a better professional.

🙋‍♀️ María Gracia's Motivation

I've been involved in the tech world for some time now and I have worked with developers for about 5 years. One of the main challenges for me in this industry is understanding and having a better grasp of coding. Although it is not essential for my job, I do interact with developers a lot so I am looking forward to broadening my horizons and improving my job skills to hopefully one day become a project or product manager.

🤹‍♀️ María Gracia's Hobbies

I like nature, hiking, doing yoga, and working out.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
