Melanie's Story I wanted to make my own web site and app for a proyect I want to put up but I couldnt find any classes outside of colleges here, and those are very expensive. So, I started watching some videos and tutorials online and when I started applying little bits and pieces of it, trying to practico, I got such a thrill, watching how with a few words well places, you could make such wonderful and interesting things, you could create things where there was notjing before.

🙋‍♀️ Melanie's Motivation

I want to help myself and others make their own entrepreneurship, as well as make a living out of it. I also want to teach other women how to code so that they can get into the tech market as well, I believe we can revolute the tech industry, one woman at a time. The way women think is very different from men, so I'm pretty sure we could bring an entre different approach to things that will eventually benefit us all.

🤹‍♀️ Melanie's Hobbies

I love Rollerblade around my City, close to ocean. I also enjoy swimming at the beach and I'm madly in love with my upstairs garden.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
