Milcent Sibongile 's Story My previous job. I got very interested in being behind the scenes of a system or the go to person to resolve systems related problems.having previously worked at a bank, I felt like most of what I really wanted to do was being handled by the IT department and that’s what sparked my interest.

🙋‍♀️ Milcent Sibongile 's Motivation

To learn new skills which I think will be very beneficial especially in the times we live in where everything is based on technology.this platform will be perfect for me since it focuses on women. The world has already moved into a time where everything is being done via computers or phone, remote work seems to be the new normal. I personally feel like for me to adapt and evolve with the times my best option is to learn how to code, because regardless of how the world changes or evolves there will always be a need for coders. Technology will never phase out instead it will just evolve. And in a world where coders are mainly men, it would be a great opportunity to learn with fellow women without feeling the pressure to fit on based on gender.

🎯

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
