Motselisi's Story Coding initially piqued my interest when I was an Industrial Engineering undergraduate student. The idea of technology improving efficiency and simplifying procedures piqued my interest. During my brief introduction to data science, I realized how coding can be used to extract insights from data, which sparked even more interest in me. Further evidence of the need of technology skills for efficient project management and execution came from my postgraduate diploma in project management. My curiosity was sparked by all of these encounters, and I was motivated to learn more about coding, resulting in me applying for opportunities like the SheCodes Foundation workshop.

🙋‍♀️ Motselisi's Motivation

I've established through my research that the SheCodes Foundation is an organization committed to assisting individuals just like myself in entering and developing in the tech industry. Reviews show that regardless of background, their workshops give participants the skills necessary for success in the industry. Being a member of the SheCodes community means being surrounded by like-minded, encouraging individuals who care about your growth. SheCodes is perfect for me because I'm a self-taught business intelligence analyst with experience in project management and industrial engineering. By teaching me how to code from scratch, it will broaden my skill set, as in my line of work, data-driven decisions are critical. SheCodes will also help me learn more about tech tools, which will improve my ability to code as I've just had a brief introduction to the field. All things considered, SheCodes is more than simply a workshop; it's a doorway to professional advancement and tangible impact in the IT sector.

🤹‍♀️ Motselisi's Hobbies

I enjoy listening to music to relax and unwind. Documentaries fascinate me, especially those about cultures and history. I value my alone time for thinking and recharging, whether reading, walking, or enjoying silence. These activities help me balance my life and prioritize self-care.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
