Moyin's Story I first became interested in coding during my research work. I purchased a new 3D printer for my work but I couldn't use it optimally because I didn't have the skills. I had to wait on help from the programmers in our team to help with that aspect. That was when I first became actively interested in coding.

🙋‍♀️ Moyin's Motivation

Two things have contributed to my motivation for learning how to code. I was initially interested in learning to code during my last role as I thought I could incorporate it into my job. But also, as the pandemic hit, I realised I would like to transition to a job in tech or tech-adjacent. For this, I would need to learn to code in depth. After attending the SheCodes Basic workshop back in November, I started trying to learn independently as I could not afford the other courses. It has been very challenging to do without the support that SheCodes provides. The support and troubleshooting aspect will help me take this to the next level.

🤹‍♀️ Moyin's Hobbies

I like reading, listening to music, exploring hidden places and writing.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
