Mphoentle 's Story When I was growing up, I was always fascinated by computers and technology. I loved tinkering with them, trying to figure out how they worked and what made them tick. In high school, I took some basic programming classes and that's when I really got hooked. I loved the problem-solving aspect of coding, and the feeling of accomplishment when I finally got a program to work. After high school, I went on to study computer science in college, and the rest is history! Coding has been a passion of mine ever since.

🙋‍♀️ Mphoentle 's Motivation

My primary motivation for learning to code is the desire to help people. I find it incredibly rewarding to be able to create something that makes someone's life easier or more enjoyable. I also love the challenge of learning new things and expanding my skills. It's an amazing feeling to start with a blank page and end up with a fully functioning piece of software. I also appreciate the collaborative nature of coding - it's a team effort to create something great. Ultimately, I just love the satisfaction of creating something new and useful.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
