Mwenya's Story I got introduced to coding in school and was stunned at how one could create something live all from scratch. I was intrigued by the process and is something I would love to see myself being fully capable of. I also believe coding is a very essential skill to have and I would like to be able to confidently state that I can code.

🙋‍♀️ Mwenya's Motivation

It is a fact that technology is a super power in the world market however the tech sector is male dominated and women are underrepresented. Therefore It is so motivating that SheCodes has provided a platform in equipping women in dominating in this sector as well. It is encouraging to know that women are being supported and encouraged to partake this path at the aim of a fair representation of successful women in this field. I have chosen SheCodes as I believe it is a great platform that is designed to make me succeed and add value with what I will be taught. SheCodes was created because they believe women are capable which is the basis for my motivation.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
