Nomfondo's Story My interest in coding sparked from a combination of curiosity and exposure to technology at a young age. Growing up, I was fascinated by computers and the endless possibilities they offered. I enjoyed exploring software and tinkering with computer programs, which eventually led me to delve deeper into coding. As I learned more about coding languages and the power they held in creating software and applications, my passion for coding grew. I found joy in solving problems, building projects, and seeing tangible results from my coding efforts. My motivation for learning how to code with SheCodes stems from a combination of personal and professional reasons. On a personal level, I've always been fascinated by technology and its potential to solve complex problems and improve people's lives. Learning how to code allows me to explore this passion and gain the skills needed to bring my ideas to life. From a professional standpoint, I recognize the increasing demand for tech skills in today's job market. By acquiring coding skills through SheCodes, I aim to enhance my career prospects and open up opportunities in fields such as software development, web design, data analysis, and more. Nomfondo's coding training

Nomfondo has gained access to SheCodes Plus for at no cost. It’s a 4 month coding training that’ll take her from a beginner to a professional.

She'll learn popular technologies, from HTML, CSS, JavaScript and development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.
