Ntsakisi's Story As a software support consultant, I've helped clients use their software better. But mostly, I've worked directly with users, answering questions and solving problems. I haven't been involved in the technical side of building the software. Recently, I spent two weeks watching the back-end development team. I got to see how coding works and how they make the software. It was fascinating! Understanding how it all comes together made me really interested in learning how to code myself.

🙋‍♀️ Ntsakisi's Motivation

I want to join SheCodes because I'm really interested in learning how to code. I finished my BCom in finance, but while working as a software support consultant, I got fascinated by coding. My job was to help people use software better, but I didn't do any of the coding stuff. I did get to watch the back-end team work for two weeks, though, and it got me excited about coding. SheCodes seems perfect because it can help me connect my finance skills with coding. I think if I learn how to code, I can understand software better and help people even more. Learning to code could open up new job opportunities for me in the tech world. I'm excited about that because I want to work on projects that involve both finance and tech skills. I really like the idea of creating new things with code. It sounds fun to solve problems and make cool stuff that helps people. SheCodes isn't just about learning coding; it's also about being part of a group of people who are all learning together. I'm looking forward to meeting new friends and learning from each other. I believe in always learning new things, and coding seems like a skill I should definitely have. SheCodes seems like a great place to learn because it's supportive and structured. I'm sure SheCodes will teach me everything I need to know about coding and give me the support I need to succeed. I can't wait to get started and see where this journey takes me. Thank you for reading my application. I hope to be part of the SheCodes community soon.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
